Dr Fred Paxton

Hi! I’m a political scientist, recently awarded a Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowship at the University of Glasgow.

I defended my PhD thesis at the European University Institute in the Department of Political and Social Sciences in 2021.

My research interests are in comparative politics – particularly regarding populist and radical parties, sub-national politics, and the politics of place. My first book ‘Restrained Radicals‘ was published in 2023 by Cambridge University Press.
